Most businesses open Sunday through Thursday, from 8 or 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4 to 7 p.m. Banks are usually open Sunday through Friday from 8:30 to 12:30 in the morning and at 4 to 5:30 in the afternoon. Some bank branches in the larger cities are open in the evenings.
Establishments that are Muslim-owned, or are located in Muslim areas, are generally closed on Fridays. Shops that are Christian-owned or found in Christian areas are closed on Sundays. On Fridays and on the day before a major Jewish holiday, shops close at 2 p.m.
